Kosol Energie, one of India’s fastest-growing solar EPC companies, has successfully commissioned a 12 MW DC solar power project for the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) at Manjal, Gujarat.
This project marks a milestone in Gujarat’s renewable energy journey, with the use of 545 Wp bifacial modules featuring 144 half-cut cells and transparent backsheets, mounted on fixed-tilt structures. It has been developed over 45 acres of previously unused government-owned wasteland, of which 13 acres were set aside for EHV and HV transmission lines, towers, and pipelines within the plant area.
The project is aimed at powering agricultural operations in the region, aligning with GSECL’s vision of integrating clean energy into farming.
It showcases Kosol Energie’s technological leadership in the solar space, leveraging state-of-the-art, AI-powered, fully automated manufacturing capabilities. The use of bifacial modules enables higher energy yields by capturing sunlight from both sides—even with fixed-tilt mounting—boosting overall system efficiency by over 15% compared to traditional monofacial module setups.
Despite challenging conditions such as harsh weather, right-of-way (ROW) issues for transmission lines within the plant area, and land encroachment, the Kosol team executed and commissioned the project within a record timeline, ensuring performance reliability and engineering excellence.

The project contributes to long-term environmental sustainability, with an estimated CO₂ offset of approximately 402,814 tonnes over 25 years. With an average daily generation capacity of 56 MWh, it is expected to provide clean and reliable electricity to support agriculture and irrigation in rural Gujarat.
The plant is fully compliant with all required electrical standards and quality benchmarks, and further reinforces Kosol Energie’s strong EPC execution track record across India.
The project also aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global leader in clean and renewable energy, supporting the national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030. By integrating advanced solar technologies and sustainable engineering practices, the Manjal project contributes to India’s solar mission, while empowering local communities through clean, reliable, and agriculturally supportive energy infrastructure.
