Action Dirt Works relies on a fleet of excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment to deliver reliable results on earthmoving projects.
Established in 2019, Action Dirt Works deploys a fleet of five Volvo compact and medium-sized excavators for a wide range of earthmoving projects across the Melbourne area. Action Dirt Works’ fleet includes an ECR25D, ECR35D, two ECR58D and an ECR145CL excavator. Mitch Bartlett, the owner of Action Dirt Works, purchased this line of brand-new excavators from local dealer CJD Equipment. The machines have worked on a diverse range of projects such as swimming pools, horse arenas and dams. Most recently, the excavators were deployed to work at a private SXS racetrack and an ornamental dam in Gough’s Bay.
Bartlett says the versatility of Volvo excavators is ideal for the niche earthmoving projects the company handles, especially since they come with a wide range of attachments for different applications and conditions.
One attachment that Action Dirt Works has found especially useful is the tiltable ditching bucket, which can tilt laterally and 45 degrees throughout the work process. The tiltable ditching bucket has proved invaluable for tasks like landscaping, ditch work, grading and backfilling.
“We have run tilt hitches on most of our diggers for a long time now. When we first started using them, everyone was blown away by how good they were and how well we could finish off our jobs,” Bartlett says. “We are currently looking at upgrading our Volvo ECR145CL to the latest E-Series, which offers all the latest technology and will increase productivity. We are also looking at fitting it out with a tilt rotator head.”
Strong dealer relationship
Bartlett has had a strong relationship with the staff at CJD Equipment since his first purchase four years ago. In particular, he appreciates the exceptional customer service the dealership provides from start to finish.
“Our experience with CJD Equipment is very good – the sales team made the whole process from quote to delivery an enjoyable experience,” Bartlett said. “Also, their after-sales service is second to none. From onsite support and servicing to the workshop, they are awesome. I can’t praise their knowledge and products highly enough.”
With support from CJD Equipment and Volvo CE, Mitch Bartlett is enjoying running a thriving business. And he’s ready to write the next chapter in the company’s history, relocating his company from its Melbourne base to the Gold Coast, taking his fleet of Volvo CE machines with him.
