SMALL AND VERSATILE: PS216-Q200/-Q210 CABLE PULL SWITCH

New component for automation technology

The Schmersal Group presents a new cable pull switch that can be used as a signal transmitter for starting machines, opening electrically driven doors and gates or as a light switch in the elevator shaft. The main advantages of the new PS216 switch are the small design and the wide range of possible applications, which are made possible by the high degrees of protection according to EN 60529 and the suitability for a wide temperature range.

Due to the protection class IP66, the PS216 pull-wire switch is protected against dust and heavy water jets and, thanks to IP67, also against secondary immersion in water. The switch can be used in ambient temperatures from -30 °C to +80 °C.

Another practical advantage is that the PS216 works according to the ballpoint pen principle: Due to the continuation function, the switch remains switched on after the first actuation and then release. Only on the second actuation and subsequent release is the locking of the switching elements cancelled and the switch switch switched off.

The PS216 cable pull switch is available in two versions: the Q200 variant has a pulling force of 45 N and is suitable for rope lengths of up to 50 m, the Q210 variant has a pulling force of 70 N and the possible rope lengths of up to 100 m. Pulling on the pulling rope causes the switching function of the pull-wire switch to be actuated.

Other distinctive features of the PS216 include cable entry via M20 or M12 connector as well as the six different NC/NO contact variants.
